염인화 / 廉仁和 / Inhwa Yeom (she/her) is a Korean media artist, research engineer, and founder of BiOVE. She creates performative AI & XR systems and environments across bodies, cognition, and forms of life. Working at the intersection of biomedical XR and AI technologies and performing arts, her practice examines (bio)techno-capitalism, the climate crisis, and neurodiversity. She is a recipient of the LG Arts Center Media Art Award and a finalist of the 6th VH AWARD. Her work has been presented at MMCA Korea, Ars Electronica, HEK Basel, ACC, SIGGRAPH Asia, and more.

염인화 / 廉仁和 / Inhwa Yeom (she/her) is a Korean media artist, research engineer, and founder of BiOVE. Her practice moves across eXtended Reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), performing arts, and biomedicine. She builds performative AI & XR systems and environments through which audiences encounter changing relations among bodies, cognition, technology, and diverse forms of life.
Her work examines (bio)techno-capitalism, the climate crisis, bio-colonialism, and neurodiversity, with particular attention to identities and experiences excluded from an assumed “we.” Drawing on myth, speculative fiction, bodily knowledge, and machine-generated audiovisual languages, she invites audiences to rehearse the becoming of somebody else and to question what is presented as natural, universal, or inevitable.
Alongside her artistic practice, Yeom designs, develops, and evaluates XR- and AI-powered systems for accessible medical, rehabilitative, therapeutic, collaborative, and self-directed learning experiences. Her research has been presented or published through Nature Medicine Conference, Scientific Reports, Springer, IEEE VR, SIGGRAPH Asia, and related clinical and computer-science venues. She was a Processing Foundation Fellow in 2020.
Her work has been presented at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Korea, Ars Electronica, HEK Basel, Asia Culture Center, Nam June Paik Art Center, Daejeon Museum of Art, LG Arts Center, SIGGRAPH Asia, and more. She received the LG Arts Center Media Art Award and was selected as a finalist for the 6th VH AWARD.
