SAUNA LAB: Flowers of Hot Spring (2024) extends Inhwa Yeom’s speculative climate-research sauna through the hot-spring cultures and Indigenous histories of Hualien, Taiwan. Developed during the residency and exhibition Whispering, Plating Myth, the work relocates the series from Daejeon’s scientific infrastructure to a wider Asian geography of bathing, healing, and collective knowledge.

Across multi-channel moving images, the work connects ageing, multicultural cities, and embodied care with alternatives to extractive capitalism. The sauna becomes a citizen-led research environment in which climate-crisis survivors rehearse forms of intelligence and creativity grounded in interdependence.
