Solarsonic Band (2024–25) is a participatory XR installation by Inhwa Yeom, powered by artificial intelligence. Its virtual band rehearses across five interdependent climate systems—the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, and atmosphere—while audiences join as “band leads” through an AR-based Band Stand.
Interactive graphic scores translate climate data into instruments, images, and remote communication. The work treats “performance” simultaneously as artistic execution, collective climate action, and technological system capability: a rehearsal for forms of cooperation that remain possible as environmental conditions change.
