Solarsonic Band (Inst.)

Solarsonic Band (Inst.) is a single-channel video artwork from Inhwa Yeom’s Solarsonic Band series. It presents instruments that have not yet been played on stage because of the climate crisis. “Inst.” suggests both an instrumental track and the possibility of instruments existing and performing without human presence.

Responding to solar heat, lightning, and fine dust, the instruments drift through the climate system and stage a “climate rehearsal”: a performance before performance, in anticipation of what is yet to come. The work has been adapted for a 360-degree screen and outdoor Media Façade presentations in Yongin.
