Overview
Solarsonic Band: In Transit continues Inhwa Yeom’s XR- and AI-based virtual performance band in the era of climate crisis. The band crosses the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, and atmosphere, rehearsing performances for a future that has not yet arrived. Their journey is less a route to a fixed destination than a process of adapting to changing conditions and forming new relations among humans, technology, and environments.
Displayed across the panoramic LED screen in Incheon Airport Terminal 2’s departure hall, the work turns an actual transit space into a provisional climate landscape. Visitors become fellow travellers—and imagined band members—within an ongoing story of movement, cooperation, and adaptation.

〈솔라소닉 밴드〉 시리즈는 기후 위기 시대를 배경으로 확장현실(XR)과 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용하는 가상의 공연 밴드를 통해 인간과 환경, 기술의 새로운 관계를 탐구해왔다. 밴드는 단순한 음악 집단이 아니라 변화하는 지구 환경 속에서 지속 가능한 공존과 적응의 가능성을 실험하는 존재다.
이번 시리즈 〈환승〉에서 밴드는 기후계를 구성하는 암석권, 생물권, 수권, 빙하권, 대기권을 횡단하며 아직 실현되지 않은 미래의 공연을 예행 연습한다. 각 권역의 물질성과 리듬, 기후 변화가 남긴 흔적에 반응하며 이동하는 여정은 목적지에 도달하기보다 새로운 조건에 적응하고 관계를 형성하는 과정에 가깝다.
‘환승’은 물리적 이동뿐 아니라 인간과 기술, 환경 사이의 관계가 지속적으로 재구성되는 과정을 의미한다. 관객은 임시 경유지에 머무르는 여행자이자 또 다른 밴드 멤버가 되어 불확실한 미래를 향한 적응과 협력의 여정에 동행한다.
