Overview
“Fusion” refers to a series of physical and social phenomena such as pull and push, collision and reaction, combination and absorption, heat generation and continuation. Also a term institutionalized as a policy device and slogan since the mid-2010s, it has come to permeate the artist’s everyday life. The <Water on Fire> series utilizes a 3D performative apparatus-environment to express moments where seemingly different things — like water and fire — interact and coexist under specific conditions.

“융합”은 당김과 밀기, 충돌과 반응, 결합과 흡수, 발열과 지속 등 일련의 물리적이고도 사회적인 현상을 뜻합니다. 또, 2010년대 중반 이래로 제도적 장치이자 슬로건으로서도 자리잡으며, 작가의 일상을 지배하고 있는 용어이기도 합니다. <물에서 타는 불>(2021-22) 연작은 3D 퍼포머티브 장치-환경을 활용하여, 마치 물과 불처럼 일견 상이한 것들이 특정 조건 속에서 화학 작용하며 공존하는 순간들을 표현합니다.
